The Austrian Science and Research Liaison Offices launch a call for proposals for projects in research cooperation and networking between Austria and South Eastern Europe - the ASO countries Slovenia and Bulgaria and the so-called Western Balkan countries Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR of Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia (including Kosovo/UNMIK) - every year. The previous topics were
- "Governance - Civil Society"
- "Contribution of science to the EU-integration of the South Eastern European Countries – Research on the Education–Society Nexus and on the Science–Society Nexus”
The latest call (document attached) launched November 10, 2006 with the deadline: February 9, 2007 deals with the topic
- "Information Science and Society in SEE countries"
Funding of 128.000 euro is provided by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Culture. Possible project activities are comparative studies, publications, mapping and know-how exchange, etc. in the field.
