News archive - [Call for Papers] International Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ICIE-2013)Back
The conference takes place at at The Hashemite University in cooperation with The Arab Administrative Development Organization in Amman, Jordan on 4-5 March 2013.
Deadline for Call for Papers, Posters, Round Table Proposals, Practitioner Contributions and Product Demonstrations is extended to August 31, 2012.
This conference aims to explore policies, measures and mechanisms for promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in various areas. Economic and organizational value creation is currently strongly embodied and embedded in innovation and entrepreneurship strategies and capabilities. Discovering and learning about those approaches can reflect the companies and nations adaptive capacity, both internally and externally. Thus, we invite researchers, practitioners and academics to present their research and to share their own experiences in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship.
Innovation and entrepreneurship are tightly coupled concepts. Innovation involves designing new ways of conceptualising, developing and producing a range of goods and services which society requires. Although inventing new things may be seen as part of innovation, innovation does not exclusively rely on new discoveries. Rather it can stem from simply seeing new ways of satisfying demand. Thus innovation is not a synonym for invention and almost anyone can come up with new innovations.
Entrepreneurship adds a further dimension to how new ideas are converted into goods and services. Entrepreneurship is sometimes said to be a mindset required to convert innovation into a real business situation which will deliver benefits to the stakeholders. Entrepreneurship is always driven by an individual or a small group of individuals who are referred to as entrepreneurs and who are sometimes colloquially referred to as the ‘movers and shakers’ in our society. Thus the entrepreneur configures the various factors of products to that they become a viable proposition.
ICIE is looking for a broad range of research in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. We are proposing to structure the event with the following five tracks and below are some suggestions of topics that we feel will fit into these tracks. You will be asked to select which area your submission fits into when you complete the abstract submission form.
Papers presented at the conference will be published in the conference proceedings* which have an ISSN and an ISBN and will be submitted for indexing by the Thompson Web of Science. In addition selected papers will also be considered for a special issue of theInternational Journal of Innovation and Regional Development and theInternational Journal of Management Science and Information Technology (IJMSIT).
