Executive Director of the Tirana Institute of Economic Research – TIER. Mrs. Tanku has worked as a project coordinator, monitoring and evaluation (M&E) specialist, and adviser for 13 years in the NGO sector in Albania. As the key specialist or team member, she has implemented several donor-funded development projects aimed at promoting democracy and good governance as well as improving the business environment in Albania. She has gained significant experience in areas including public sector reforms, local government decentralization, economic development, anti-corruption strategies, transparency, public participation and awareness, performance monitoring of public institutions through surveys, etc. The donors for these projects include USAID, the Soros Foundation, OSCE, the World Bank, etc.
Throughout 2006-2013, as a M&E specialist, she managed several donor-funded projects focused on performance monitoring, including the Millennium Challenge Corporation Albania Threshold II Program (MCCA2), administered by USAID in Albania, or advised through short term individual contracts. As adviser, she mentored, and supervised several civil society organizations as they carried out their monitoring studies, measuring public service delivery performance. Fluent Albanian (native) and English.
